
After four years of service to our board, Greg Slobodzian is ready to retire from the office of treasurer. We are super thankful that he has organized our finances and is available to transition this post to the next willing neighbor!
Per our HOA by-laws, we must elect a new treasurer at the October 2021 meeting and the new treasurer will take office in January 2022.
Treasurer is an important role, but not overwhelming or super time consuming. Plus, Greg will help the new officer get started and answer questions along the way.
Skill set needed:
- Basic math skills, enough to balance a checking account
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Familiar with basic emailing and cloud tools (we use Google Drive to store documents)
Duties:
- Manage the HOA checking account: Make deposits, pay bills and balance account each month
- Mail dues notices to all owners of record
- Keep records of dues payments
- Update records of property owners contact information
- Mail late notices to homeowners who forgot to pay, once or twice a year
- File State and Federal tax returns (easier than it sounds since we do not pay any tax)
- Fill out Title company HOA information request forms when someone buys or sells a home in the neighborhood
- Submit quarterly treasurer reports to the membership
- Submit annual treasurer report to the membership
- Submit budget proposal for the upcoming year
- Attend board meetings (quarterly) and membership meetings (quarterly)
