Firewise Information

Firewise USA® is a national program that helps communities reduce wildfire risk by promoting simple, practical steps to make homes and neighborhoods more resilient to fire. Participating in Firewise USA empowers our community to work together on prevention, improve safety, and potentially reduce damage and recovery costs when wildfires occur.

CERT Emergency Preparedness Day

Saturday, August 29 * 11:30 AM – 4:00 PM

Volunteers needed! Email: WaltNorthStuff@gmail.com

11:00 – Volunteers meet at the park Gazebo for instructions.
11:30 to 1:30 -Begin the process of checking in on the well-being of all the homes and
families in the neighborhood.
2:00 to 4:00 – Information and activities at the park.
4:00 – Conclude the exercise and have hot dogs and Stone Soup.

Past event recap

Saturday, April 25 was our kick off event for Strawberry Safety, and WOW, what a turn out! Approximately 15 homes participated in leaving out branches for the chipper service.

  • Thanks to Kitsap Quarry for their generous rock donation.
  • Thanks to Archon Tree Service for the wood chipping.
  • Thanks to Kitsap County Fire Department for the volunteers who worked around the neighborhood.
  • Thanks to the CERT volunteer team who helped build emergency preparedness and led the exciting fire extinguisher demonstration station.
  • Thanks to Duel Brown for delivering rock to neighbors with his tractor.
  • Thanks to Paul Hoffman for volunteering to help neighbors in need, and was overheard saying, “Hey, does anyone else need anything?” ♥
